You're Turning Two...

How is it that a year has gone by already?  Tomorrow you'll be two.  You'll be one year closer to being a little boy, and one year further away from being a baby.  I think I'm having a harder time with this birthday than I did your first.

You are really coming into your own.  Your personality is growing more and more each day as you become more independent. 

You count -- "One, two, fwee, four..." and sometimes add extra numbers here and there.

You try to say your ABCs -- "A, B, C yay!" -- and you applaud yourself.

You're little voice sweetly says all sorts of things.  You string words together to make small sentences.  "No" might still be your favorite word.  You just add it to our names now too -- "No Jaybub"; "No mommies"; "No daddies."

You are almost always willing to help.  You love to pack Jacob's lunch with daddy, do laundry with me, and help me vacuum.

Doing your jobs in the morning and evening are important to you.  You get toothbrushes ready, take your vitamins... but I think you like to play in the water more than anything else.

You still love your blankets.  You'll get as many of those as you can and take them with you wherever you go.  They are probably your greatest comfort (next to mommy and daddy).

You love Christmas lights.  You tell us they're pretty, and when we're driving at night, you point them out whenever you see them -- "More lights!  More lights!  Look mommy!  More lights!  Look daddy!  More lights!  Gogo side lights!  Jaybub side lights!"

Gogo -- or at least something that sounds like Gogo -- is your name for yourself.

If Jacob does it, you want to do it, too. 

You make us laugh every day, and bring so much joy into our lives.
