How is it that you're going to be FIVE tomorrow?!? You keep reassuring me, "Don't worry, Mommy. I'll always be your baby, even when I'm a grown up!" I still can't help but cry just a little.
You are obsessed with space and weather and other science things. You want to know all about tornadoes, and thunderstorms, and volcanoes, and the planets. And once you find out something about any of those things, you tell us about it over and over.
You still love your trains. You're constantly making new layouts on the train table and testing the track to make sure it does what you want it to. Sometimes you let your brother play with you there, but most of the time you get frustrated with him because he destroys your track.
But oh, how you love your brother. You are constantly on him -- hugging, kissing, trying to wrestle... You reassure him when he's upset: "It's okay brother! It's okay little boy! You'll be okay!" You race and chase him around the house. You make silly faces at him so he'll laugh. You go into his room in the morning to greet him and make sure he has something to play with. You are such a good big brother.
You're slowly starting to eat more foods. Nothing too crazy, but you've added pizza and oranges to the list! You still love your popcorn chicken, squash, pears, and pierogi. You'll eat pasta with pesto sauce, but not red sauce. Tacos are probably your favorite meal. You've asked if we can go to California Tortilla for your birthday dinner, specifically because you want tacos.
But I still can't believe you're turning five. A whole hand. It just doesn't seem possible. We are so proud of you, Jacob. We look forward to seeing what this year brings for you!
