Michael is now almost 8 months old, so it's high time I cranked out a 7 month post for him, don't you think?
This kid. I don't know where to start with him.
He quit nursing. One day he was fine with it, the next he just didn't want it anymore. So he's been enjoying his bottles of formula instead. He's still a bit slow on eating solid foods, but he's getting better. We've been able to get some applesauce in him (though he makes a sour face sometimes after eating it), and he tolerated some bites of Gerber's macaroni and cheese. We tried making him food like we did with Jacob, but he just spit all of that back out and clamped his mouth shut. So I picked up some Gerber and Beech Nut baby foods. He's getting there. He loved the apple/pear/banana option and he's been pretty happy about me mixing sweet baby carrots with a banana/orange medley. Forget the chicken in chicken broth. He wasn't having any of that. And I mashed up a banana the other day for him, which he happily ate as well. So it seems like we've got banana for the win. Also, we have our first tooth! Bottom front left.
He loves to sit up on his own and play with toys. At least until he realizes that (a) we're not sitting RIGHTNEXT to him or (b) there's something close by that he thinks he can pull himself up on to standing. He is not happy when he tries to crawl. He still hasn't quite figured that all out yet, so his legs get squished up funny or he face-plants on the floor, and then he starts to scream. But man does this kid love to bounce. Put him in his bouncer and he's as happy as can be. Until he sees a bottle. Or feels that he should be picked up.
He does not like to lay down much. But he's going to sleep much easier now. And he's FINALLY sleeping through the night. FINALLY. Only took us 7 months to get there... But now, when he's ready for a nap, I can lay him down in his crib, give him his pacifier and the end of a blanket to snuggle, turn on his mobile, and out he goes. We'll see how much vacation screws with that...
He's currently wearing 6 to 9 month clothing. Both sizes seem to fit him pretty well, and he doesn't look like he'll grow out of those sizes too quickly. Sometimes the 6 month stuff seems a bit stretched in places, but he can still get some wear out of most things.
And taking pictures for his 7 month photo shoot? Not having it...

Michael continues to be a pretty happy and easy-going baby, even though these pictures might make you think otherwise...
And the bond that is forming between him and Jacob is amazing. Michael smiles whenever he sees Jacob, so we can usually count on Jacob to cheer him up. And Jacob loves to love on Michael. I know that as soon as Michael is more mobile and can start tearing up Jacob's trains, that relationship will probably change... But for now, I'll take it.
